Here in Australia, we have access to an abundance of fruit and vegetables and the variety is endless. Yes we are very blessed!
Yet despite this, many children are not eating the recommended daily requirements of fruit and vegetables. Currently it is suggested
that children eat, at least, 2 serves of fruit and 5 serves of vegetables every day.
So why is it so difficult? Some say it is the rising cost of fresh fruit and vegetables, and others say, in a time starved world,
it is easier for parents to rely on ready made, processed foods. Whatever the case, it is something that needs to be addressed
through education and by supporting parent of all socioeconomic situations.
This has inspired me to write a book about fruit. "Fruit Any Time, Anywhere" is coming soon!
